Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard Entertainment’s foray into the MOBA genre, is getting a major facelift in 2017 with a new progression system, loot chests and a whole lot of new loot.
In the spotlight video above, Blizzard lays out all the new features and changes coming to the game in an update dubbed Heroes of the Storm 2.0, which currently doesn’t have a release date (although it sounds like it’s coming very soon). In addition to new collectible loot — like hero voice lines and banners to mark camps or towers you’ve beaten — Heroes 2.0 is introducing a new way to get that loot that looks very similar to Overwatch: you’ll get loot chests after every level. Loot crates can contain the new loot mentioned above, heroes, hero skins, mounts, portraits and, another new feature, sprays.
Along with those goodies, Heroes 2.0 is removing the level cap — you can level infinitely.Your profile level increases every time you level a hero (and all the levels you already earned will roll into your profile level with the update). Leveling has also been made easier with less experience needed.
There is also a new hero coming from the Diablo universe, Cassia, and more changes and content coming throughout the next month plus.
