Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier plays Dota 2 for Team Faceless. When he was a teenager, his dad passed away, losing a fight with three different cancers at once. Not long after, Black^ was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer that develops in your lymph nodes.
Black^ won his battle against cancer. Before his father died, Black^ told him that he’d make something out of his career in esports. After years of hopping around on different teams, Black^ and Team Faceless have made it to the top eight of the Dota 2 Kiev Major with a good shot at making it all the way to the championship.
The tournament organizers of the Kiev Major, PGL, shared Black^’s story in the above player profile, how he overcame his struggles and feels better than he ever has before.
